Smart solar calculator: what size system do I need?

Add your appliances and compare Deye, Solis and Standard packages. We show the documented inverter rating, battery capacity, panel count, installed package price and financing estimate.

Quick answer

What size solar system do I need? It is decided by three separate numbers, not one. Inverter size comes from your peak simultaneous demand, which air-conditioner start-up surge usually dominates. Battery capacity comes from how much energy you use while the sun is down. Panel count comes from how fast that battery has to refill the next day. Add your appliances below and the calculator works out all three, then prices it against our published charts and shows the monthly payment if you finance it.

How the sizing works

Documented packages, explained

Equipment and prices come from the same package. Backup duration is an estimate to discuss with an engineer.

Inverter size

Matched against the appliance quantities in the supplied Deye, Solis and Standard charts. kVA and kW ratings retain their original units.

Battery capacity

The package contains the exact storage shown in its price chart. A runtime estimate uses typical watts, duty cycles and 90% usable storage; an engineer confirms actual demand and starting loads.

Panel count

The panel count and wattage are those included in the priced package. Solar recharge depends on site conditions and needs an engineer assessment.

Prefer a person to size it?

Our engineers do a free load assessment, on site or over WhatsApp. They will also tell you if you need less than the calculator suggests, which happens more often than you would think.
