Myth 2: Solar panels only work in sunny climates
Solar panels can still generate power on cloudy days. While sunlight is essential, modern monocrystalline panels are designed to work efficiently in a variety of weather conditions, including the Nigerian rainy season.
What matters in practice is battery sizing: storage is what carries you through a run of overcast days without touching a generator.
Myth 3: Solar systems require too much maintenance
Solar systems require minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning of the panels so they are not obstructed by dust or dirt, plus occasional checks, is usually all that is needed to keep them functioning efficiently.

Myth 4: Solar panels will damage my roof
Solar panels do not damage roofs when installed properly. In fact they can protect your roof by shielding it from rain, sun and debris.

Myth 5: You have to get rid of your generator
You do not. A hybrid installation integrates with your existing distribution board and your generator can stay exactly where it is as a backup.
